PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WMDJ) – A Johnson County man was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison after pleading guilty to kidnapping and killing his daughter.  

Stacy Collins was charged with the murder and kidnapping of 12-year-old, Stacia Collins, in 2022.

At the time of the murder, authorities discovered Stacy Collins suffering from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators later discovered his daughter deceased a few miles from his location.

Judge John Kevin Holbrook sentenced Collins to life in prison without the possibility of parole until 25-years of his sentence is completed.
