PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WMDJ) – One person has died in a house fire in Pike County.

911 received a call at 10:10 p.m. Wedneday of a structure fire on Caney Drive in Pikeville.

Fire personnel discovered a body inside the residence. The body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and identification.

The cause of the fire and death is under investigation by Kentucky State Police. No foul play is suspected.
