Kylie Howell crowned Floyd County Schools Spelling Bee champion

EASTERN, Ky. (WMDJ) – There’s a new spelling champion in Floyd County.

 

Kylie Howell, a sixth-grade student from John M. Stumbo Elementary, has been named the 2024-2025 Floyd County Spelling Bee Champion. 

 

Competing against the top spellers from schools across the district, Kylie demonstrated her exceptional spelling skills and to secure the title. 

 

Kylie spelled the word, “asterisk”, to capture the crown.

 

Lauren Griffith, an eighth grader from Adams Middle School, was the runner-up.
