PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WMDJ) – Voters in Floyd County are deciding whether to allow the operation and sell of medicinal cannabis products within the county and the city of Prestonsburg.

Voters across the county would have noticed a question that asked, “Are you in favor of the sale of medicinal cannabis at a licensed dispensary and the operation of other cannabis businesses in Floyd County.”

Voters in Prestonsburg were also asked a separate question concerning medicinal cannabis sales within city limits.

Earlier this month, the state awarded 26 medical cannabis licenses through a lottery system. No county in the Big Sandy area was awarded a license.
