EASTERN, Ky. (WMDJ) – A instructional aide at Duff-Allen Central Elementary was arrested Monday on alcohol intoxication charges while on school grounds.

Neil Allen, 40, of Hueysville, was taken into custody by Floyd County Sheriff’s deputies after colleagues reported Allen for suspected intoxication during school hours.

Following an investigation, deputies discovered an open container with alcohol and empty cans of beer in his vehicle.

Floyd County Schools issued a statement saying this matter is being taken very seriously and is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all students and staff.
