KNOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WMDJ) – Kentucky State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Knott County.

The shooting occurred in Littcarr Monday morning, prompting Carr Creek Elementary to go into lockdown around 9 a.m.

Very little details are known at this time, however, according to reports, the shooter died during the incident.

Trooper Matt Gayheart released a statement saying no officers involved were injured and that there was no further threat to the public.

The identity of the shooter has not been released.
