SHELBY GAP, Ky. (WMDJ) – Kentucky State Police have opened a death investigation after a husband and wife died of fatal gunshot wounds Tuesday in Pike County.

Troopers and investigators responded to a residence on Kelly Mountain Road where they discovered Rickie Potter, 57, and Sabrina Potter, 51, both of Shelby Gap dead.

The initial investigation indicated Rickie Potter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and KSP is not actively searching for any suspects at this time.

Detective Joseph Coleman is leading the investigation. He was assisted on scene by KSP personnel and Lifeguard Ambulance Service.
