STANVILLE, Ky. (WMDJ) – The manager of a Floyd County convenience store has been arrested on charges of stealing more than $100,000 to cover gambling debts.
Nancy Powell of Banner, who served as manager of the Cardinal Country Store at Stanville, was arrested on Monday after an investigation discovered Powell failed to deposit over $117,000 that was collected from her shifts between May 19th and June 5th.
Powell confessed to authorities she stole the money to cover her gambling addiction.
Powell faces between five and 10 years in prison if convicted. She will appear in court on June 17th.
