Graduation time is coming at the end of May and WMDJ, along with the Floyd County Board of Education and Superintendent Anna Shepherd are proud to present Senior Salutes.
WMDJ will be broadcasting LIVE from Prestonsburg, Betsy Layne & Floyd Central High School’s graduation parades, letting you know when seniors are rolling into your community!
Prestonsburg High School - Sunday, May 5th at 2:30 p.m.
Betsy Layne High School – Saturday, May 18th at 11 a.m.
Floyd Central High School – Sunday, May 19th at 5 p.m.

Betsy Layne High School parade details: The parade will leave the BLHS Parking Lot at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18th, and will go down the hill, turning right, straight onto U.S. 23. The parade will drive to Banner and take a left turn on KY 1426 and follow until it ends on KY 979. The parade will then turn right onto KY 979 and will continue to the Samaria Old Regular Babptist Church, make a U-turn in the church parking lot and ride back on KY 979 to the red lights at Harold. Once reaching the lights, the parade will turn left and return to BLHS.
Floyd Central High School parade details:
Leave Wheelwright at 5:00 P.M.,
Travel Route 122 to Martin;
Travel across Twin Bridges; turn left on Martin spur bridge; turn left on RT 80 West;
Exit RT 80 at Maytown; travel old road until reaching RT 80; turn right
Exit RT 80 at the lower end of Eastern onto RT 550;
Travel RT 550 to Garrett;
Stay on RT 550; travel through Garrett then to Wayland;
Parade will make a loop around in Wayland then go back to Garrett;
Turn right off of RT 550 then left onto RT 80 East;
Turn right onto 680 West back to Floyd Central High
Graduates will follow the bus lane, driving in front of our building then exiting the campus.
